UQ[py]Lab

Software availability is a key aspect of widespread scientific dissemination in all applied science and engineering disciplines. While newer and more powerful algorithms are continuously developed in an academic context, their impact is often limited by the high skill floor required to access and deploy them.

Since 2013, the external pageUQLab software project has focused on providing state-of-the-art uncertainty quantification algorithms to academic users from all research fields, regardless of their backgrounds. The MATLAB-based software is entirely open-source under the BSD 3-Clause license and available at external pagewww.uqlab.com.

Several academic and industrial communities use computational tools and languages other than MATLAB. To reach out to this potential userbase, we started developing UQCloud, a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that provides a language-independent port of UQLab through a secure stateful API. The API can be directly accessed through a lightweight client, developed in any desired programming language.

In 2021, we released external pageUQ[py]Labthe first beta version of the UQCloud service, complete with a set of python bindings, which now counts over 500 users worldwide.
